About the Artist
As a painter, I approach art as a process of inquiry. Working with inks and liquid acrylics, there is a cause and effect in how these materials move and react. This visual language reminds me of the causal relationships inherent in geographical space and systems of science. My current body of work began in 2015 and continues to explore the CMYK color system used in printing. While studying research psychology at Mills College, I began to question how science and art inform each other. Specifically how neurological function impacts visual perception. I have a passion for both art and science. My art has become more informed by scientific research into the physiological systems that enable human perception and conscious experience.
